Planning and decision making, organizing, leading and controlling are considered to be the four basic functions of management. Planning and decision making involve setting organizational goals and deciding how to best achieve them. Determining how to group activities and resources in the most efficient manner is organization. Working in the best interest of the organization and determining the best way to motivate members of the organization to do so is leading. Lastly, controlling involves continually monitoring and correcting ongoing activities to ensure that goals are being met.

Organization is our main focus. Determining the most effective and efficient way to organize people and other resources is the primary function of organizing. The best way to group the activities and resources is an important aspect when it comes to organizing as well.
